BLT Chopped Salad is a classy salad. It is quick and easy to prepare salad recipe idea. Healthwise, it is very nutritious having meat, vegetables, and cereal grains. It is gluten free and a whole meal.

Lettuce is very nutritious. It is rich in vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber, and phytonutrients is low in calories. When buying lettuce, select those that are crisp with green leaves. It should have a firm head. A good lettuce should be heavy for its size with leaves which are tightly closed.

To prepare, remove and discard any bruised, wilted or discolored leaves. Tear off and wash the leaves properly. Dry them with clean dish towels or paper towels. Avoid at all costs chopping the leaves! The leaves are so sensitive. Tear them instead. Depending on your lettuce recipe, you may either have it cooked or raw as in salads.

When preparing bacon, remove it from the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before cooking. They tend to cook evenly when at room temperature. For crispier bites, cut bacon into thinner slices. Cook on low heat. After draining the fat, do not throw it away. Refrigerate for later use as a bacon flavoring to any desired dish. Each bite gives you a high level of flavors and a fatty taste of pork.

Mayonnaise is equally good in sandwiches.  For you to make healthy mayonnaise which is well flavored you have to be precise in measuring the ingredients. You must also be patient throughout the preparation process. Homemade mayonnaise is simple and cost effective.

Corn is a rich in vitamin A, B, E, and minerals. It also provides calories required for daily metabolism.  When buying corn, you should check to see at the top of the husk if you will see some tiny brown holes .They are wormholes, and therefore you should avoid buying such. Peel the tip of the hull to ensure that the tips are well filled out. Of course, you don't have to remove the husks from the whole ear; you don't want to make the farmer experience a lot of losses. Also for freshness, the husk should be tightly wrapped against the cob and bright green.
