Notes

Nuts are healthful .They have unsaturated fats, protein, a little fiber, and an array of vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals. They have a significant impact on your daily intake of folate and other B vitamins.

You should always use fresh nuts. Buy them in small amounts that you can use up quickly. After purchasing nuts, use them immediately. If not, store them in the freezer in airtight containers. Nuts are oily and may go rancid. Keeping them in the freezer helps avoid this from happening. Rancid nuts are bad for your health. Buying from bulk bins in a busy food store is advisable. You can also get them from a farmers market.

Everyone loves roasted nuts.  Taken either as a side dish, appetizer or as a snack, they will always be sweet. They have that crunchy texture that you love. You might cook them plain but flavored nuts are also a better option.

Memphis roasted nuts have a sweet, smoky flavor from the Memphis Dry Rub. Toss your nuts with the rub after roasting. You can also use the dry rub on any roasted food be it chicken, pork, steak, vegetables or nuts.

Nuts have different cooking time. The smaller nuts take less time to cook compared to the large ones. Raw nuts are a good choice, too. You should also go for unsalted or lightly salted varieties. Homemade nutsare the best .they are sweet and healthy at the same time. The ones from the store usually tend to be oversalted. Some have also overstayed on the shelves. You only have to spare 5 minutes to have your Memphis Roasted nuts ready.

If you want to get best out of your almonds, less processing them is the best option. Pre-shelled and roasted almonds are not as beneficial as raw almonds which are still in their natural casing.

You can also roast your nuts in advance. Keep your roasted nuts in an airtight container. The texture and flavor will remain just the same they were before cooling.

Nicely done roasted nuts have a darker shade with a toast smell.
