Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Sweet Onion Dressing
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 English cucumber sliced
  • 3 celery stalks sliced
  • 1/2 sweet onion thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup dill

DIRECTIONS

  • Whisk the sour cream and Sweet Onion Dressing together.
  •  In a mixing bowl, add cucumber, celery, and onion.
  • Toss with the Sweet onion dressing.
  • Add salt and pepper to season if desired.
  •  Sprinkle fresh dill for a finish.
  • Serve at room temperature.

Onion is the only ingredient that you will never miss in any cuisine worldwide. It is a must have vegetable in every kitchen. It has many uses. It adds a pleasant aroma to whatever recipe.

Sweet onion ranges in color from white to yellow. They have a flattened or squashed appearance. When buying the onions, you should select those with dry, papery, smooth outer skin. Onions should be heavy for their size. Avoid soft and sprouting onions and even those with black spots. Gently squeeze the onion. If soft, do not buy. It is a sign of rotting. The onion's flesh should be firm.

The onions are more perishable compared to the yellow, red and white ones. It is therefore advisable to store them under refrigeration.

 Cucumber is a versatile food. You can use it raw in salad recipes and in a variety of cooked dishes be it, soups, fried foods, and stews.

Cucumbers are high in Vitamin K.Sufficient consumption of this vitamin is associated with healthy bones. Vitamin K also improves the absorption calcium which contributes to good bone health. Cucumbers also help control and prevent diabetes. They contain properties which help lower spikes in blood sugar

Celery is an excellent plant that is light green. It has some tangy and salty taste. It is an ingredient in many types of stews and salads. Celery has fantastic fiber content for keeping your digestion properly regulated. It also keeps the stomach lining healthy and helps maintain healthy bacteria levels in the intestines.

Celery contains antioxidants in abundance and consuming it helps you to avoid many potential diseases and infections of the gallbladder, and kidneys; which are triggered by toxins. If you are on a weight loss diet, do not forget celery. It is low in calories.  Whenever you have hunger pangs, it is a great snack to munch on. You can also cut it into strips and consume it as a gluten free snack.
